Zamanı Yönetmek

This Articulate Storyline case study eLearning project is designed to help maritime professionals manage their time more effectively and efficiently, which is a crucial part of their job. The course includes lesson videos and interactive elements. Ultimately, the project provides an overview of a Zamanı Yönetmek (Time Management) Articulate eLearning Project.

Audience: Maritime Professionals
Responsibilities: eLearning Development,
Tools Used: Articulate Storyline, Figma
Target: The goal of this training is to assist maritime professionals in comprehending the significance of effective time management

My Process

The Problem

I designed this course using the SAM model, which focuses on iterating on each process until I was confident about the look and feel. The storyboard was shared with me. I then began by creating visual mock ups in Figma, building the prototype, and ultimately developing the end product in Articulate Storyline.

Visual Mockups

After carefully reviewing the storyboard that was sent to me, I moved on to the visual design step of the process by creating mockups for my vision and iterating on them.

My main objective was to include visuals and scenes that were relevant to the maritime industry and resonated with the target audience. To achieve this, I explored images of the maritime industry and maritime professionals for inspiration. I created a style guide to ensure consistency in fonts, colors, and spacing with the branding, which was also established as part of the style guide.

After completing a style guide, I used Figma to create slides for my learning experience. I found a mentor presentation project through Genially and adapted its design to my own project, tailoring it to the required module, lesson, video, interaction, or question slides. I iterated on these slides until all visual and instructional information flowed together seamlessly and made sense for the learner.

The process of creating mock ups was thrilling for me as it was where my instructional vision began to take shape. As I iterated on each design, I was able to witness my learning experience becoming more cohesive and consistent, which was extremely fulfilling.

Learning Experience Development

While the visual mock ups helped me form a clear vision for my design, it was the creation of an interactive prototype that truly brought the experience to life. Using Articulate Storyline 360, I developed a functional prototype to gather feedback on its usability and development.

To create the prototype, I included several interactive slides with the video, triggers, sound effects and hover states. Once I was satisfied with the prototype, I conducted a user test with peers and individuals who closely matched the target audience’s persona. Based on feedback gathered through Storyline’s 360 Review feature, I made iterations to improve the user experience.

The interactive prototype provided valuable insights on the features that users loved, as well as feedback that helped enhance its functionality. For instance, based on a user’s suggestion, I added triangular handles to the slider button, which made it easier to slide and adjust.

Full development

After completing the various stages of my project, I added buttons with an engaging hover effect and ensured that each slide was logically connected in accordance with the storyboard. With all the necessary adjustments made, I proceeded to export all the relevant files and then imported them into Articulate Storyline 360 for further development.
